Why I Use Intuitive Eating
Ten years ago my friend introduced me to dieting. It seemed simple: count your calories, exercise, eat less than the what you allotted yourself, watch your weight go down, power through the struggles, hit your goal, and be happy with your life forever.
What I found in my visitation to diet land is I was never really satisfied. I soon started making my days a number. Which days were a success based of the calories I cut, and which days were unfortunately lost because I added the sweet and salty taste of butter to my bread or potatoes? I didn't just start growing dissatisfied with food and exercise, I was also growing dissatisfied with my body.
Eventually I turned the tables and chose myself over dieting. This is where I found Intuitive Eating, a process of getting to know your body's hunger cues, sensing when you are full, eating foods that appeal to your body, and learning to listen to your body.
In a world where we measure ourselves in countless ways, where we barrage ourselves with expectations, Intuitive Eating has been for me a beginning step of letting myself exist in a mind cleared by its former standards. What I have learned is there is no book that can tell you what to do with your body, other than that which guides you back to your body's source of wisdom: itself.
Choosing Intuitive Eating is choosing the beginning steps to liberty, where you are guided by what is instead of what's expected. Quiet the noises and you will learn your body is the perfect guide not only for food, but for movement, comfort, and what it needs.


Intuitive Eating Coaching Program
What is Intuitive Eating Coaching?
Intuitive Eating Coaching Program is a twelve week course we schedule ahead of time, that way you know all your appointments before we start. You will receive twelve 1:1 individual 75 minute sessions curated toward what your needs with food. Each session incorporates the ten principles you will learn to guide you back to your body's inherent wisdom towards food and movement.
How does Intuitive Eating work?
Intuitive Eating offers an approach that helps you reconnect with your body's natural hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues. Instead of external rules, it guides you to listen to your inner wisdom to build a healthy, flexible relationship with food and your body. Based on ten key principles, you have easy-to-grasp tools to reconnect you to your body, eat in the way your body needs, and unlearn years of guilt and programing.
Key Features:
Unlike therapy, coaching provides a structured, week-by-week guide rooted in the ten principles of Intuitive Eating with the first session going over goals and the final session added as takeaway and incorporating. In addition, parts work can be incorporated into your session, where parts are identified that may contribute to your food struggles. Somatic processing is incorporated to gently release these patterns.
EMDR can be an additional service offered when further deprogramming is needed for negative messages related to food. This can be offered in intensive format as an additional service and can be discussed at the time of your appointment.
